2007 NASA Cost Symposium
July 17 - 19, 2007
"Improving the Culture of Cost Estimating at NASA One Step at a Time"

On-line registration is now open for the 2007 NASA Cost Symposium at https://prv.grc.nasa.gov/evt/QZoc/. Hotel registration does not count as symposium registration, so ensure you do both!

Purpose

The purpose of the 2007 NASA Cost Symposium is to gather as a community to discuss papers relating to “Improving the Culture of Cost Estimation at NASA One Step at a Time”. The program will survey, promote and record key innovations and achievements in a variety or areas related to our field, such as parametric cost modeling techniques and methodologies, cost, schedule, and risk models and analysis as well as their applications to date, cost management and policy as well as explore future possibilities of how to improve what we do within NASA in the future. This forum promotes interdisciplinary understanding of costing aerospace systems, their underlying science and technology, and their applications to government and commercial endeavors. It is designed for cost engineers, cost estimators and analysts, aerospace experts, academia, military personnel, and industry leaders in our field resulting in a stimulating and thought-provoking environment. Attendees enjoy exceptional access to authors and invited speakers in a Symposium forum which provides an opportunity to develop lasting relationships benefiting participants, their organizations, and the cost engineering, scientific, and aerospace communities far beyond the Symposium. Papers are peer reviewed and CD-ROM Proceedings are distributed at the Conference. In addition, vendors in the cost estimating and engineering fields set up exhibits for attendees to visit to familiarize and learn about new features and upgrades of existing cost models to remain current in their field.

What does it do for us?

The NASA Cost Symposium promotes an interdisciplinary understanding of costing aerospace systems, their underlying science and technology, and their applications to government and commercial endeavors. The symposium also provides for professional development of those in our field. Finally, the symposium affords us the opportunity to recognize the outstanding performers in our cost community.

Meeting Information

The 2007 NASA Cost Symposium is open to NASA and other government personnel, retired NASA civil servants, and cost support contractors that support these agencies in the area of cost estimating. The symposium is closed to prime contractors. There are no registration fees for the symposium.

The dress code for the symposium is business casual. The dress code for the Awards Banquet is business attire; cocktail dresses for ladies are acceptable.
